Spring Finale. Former Citadel football coach Ellis Johnson ('75) is the Band Of Gold Spotlight on this extended edition of Citadel GrayLine. Hear the current South Carolina defensive coordinator talk about his days as a cadet, assistant coach and head coach (2001-03) at The Military College of South Carolina. Also, we discuss his relationship with Steve Spurrier. And this last edition of the spring recaps the Diamond Dogs' dismal season. Citadel athletes have done well in the classroom, receiving a passing grade from the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate report. Also, the Bulldog baseball team wins on the road in Rock Hill against Winthrop. Plus, the Band Of Gold Spotlight features Stephen Stubley ('93) discussing the 13th Annual Brian C. Martin Memorial Golf Tournament, taking place at Oaks Hill Golf Club in Columbia, S.C., on May 31. Martin died in a car wreck in 1996, and each year his 1993 classmates and more gather in Columbia to raise money for a needs-based scholarship at The Citadel.

Larry Hutto ('91) was the catcher on The Citadel's 1990 College World Series team, and he's this week's Band Of Gold Spotlight. Hear about the Bulldogs' historic rise to Omaha, and what the Hampton, S.C., native has been doing since his days on Moultrie Street.
